Homes for Our Troops
Initially, I started donating to this charity as part of Team SPARK Bike shop in 2013. SPARK is no longer in business, but I still continue to support this charity.
HFOT is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. There are building projects throughout the country.

Community Involvement :: Taunton Pathways Committee
The Taunton Pathways Committee was appointed by Mayor Thomas C. Hoye, Jr. and confirmed by the Taunton City Council on January 31, 2017, in accordance with the City’s 2015 Open Space Plan. One of the goals of this plan is to “Develop a City-wide multi-use trail system, including walking, hiking, biking, and water access features, where feasible.” To facilitate this goal, Mayor Hoye sought out community members who wanted to develop local bike, pedestrian, and water trail plans and work with regional agencies and groups to develop the broad support needed to advance these projects. Our committee looks forward to creating a coalition of city and state government officials, local business owners, and nonprofit groups to improve access to multi-modal transportation for all Taunton residents and visitors. By doing so, we will help to promote a healthier and safer community for citizens of all ages and abilities.
The proposed Taunton River Trail will be a 12+ mile continuous network of off-road multi-use paths and on-road bike lanes that will connect the communities of Taunton, Dighton, and Somerset along the Taunton River. Once complete, it will also intersect with the South Coast Bikeway at the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Somerset/Fall River. In addition, we are also examining possibilities to link to Norton and Mansfield to the north.
